Making a Difference

A Call To Serve Others

Service in Action (SIA) at Christ Church embodies the Christian call to serve others, particularly those in need. The program offers students meaningful service opportunities at local, national, and international levels, from supporting remote Aboriginal communities to working with vulnerable children in Cambodia.

Learning Through Service

Consistent with current research and contemporary thinking, the traditional idea of community service has evolved into service learning, the understanding that deep, lasting learning occurs through serving others.

Students in Years 7 to 12 can choose from a wide range of service experiences that foster empathy, leadership, and global awareness. Annual SIA trips inspire students to pursue excellence through service as they engage with regional schools, collaborate with teachers and students, and participate in international outreach initiatives.

Students who take part in SIA often describe their experiences as transformational. Immersed in communities and cultures vastly different from their own, they gain a broader perspective, empathy, and a stronger sense of purpose.
