An Holistic Education
Learning continues long after the bell has rung. A wide range of clubs and activities provide students with the opportunity to explore new interests, develop their talents, and form lifelong friendships beyond the academic program. From creative pursuits and service initiatives to sporting excellence and special interest groups, there is something for every student to discover, lead, and enjoy.

In addition to school-run clubs and activities, highly professional external educational providers are engaged to run activities which include Coding, Robotics and sporting activities.

Chess
Students enjoy playing games of chess while having the opportunity to learn and practice new moves and tactics. Boys from Years 3 to 6 can develop their skills while playing against boys from different age groups.

Construction
Students engage their imagination to design models using various construction materials. Each week, the boys will use different modes of construction that may include Lego, Duplo, Magnetic tiles, blocks, connection toys and more.

Drawing
Students have access to a variety of activities and are assisted with step-by-step instructions to see their creations come to life. Boys will be able to test their drawing skills by drawing a range of items and using different equipment.

Homework
Students are provided a quiet space to complete their homework tasks with the assistance of a supervising teacher. If the boys are unsure of a particular task, they have direct access to a teacher who can work through the activity with them. They are also able to work with other students from Years 3 to 6 to complete as much of the week’s homework as possible.

I’ve had loads of fun doing all the activities and clubs at Christ Church. From Debating where I learnt public speaking and communication, to Duke of Ed, where I did lots of team building and teamwork with others, they’ve been really amazing and they’ve really helped me on my school journey.

Art
Opportunities are provided for additional, unstructured time in the art studios during after-school Art. Students may work on individual extension art activities of their own choice under the guidance of a specialist teacher.

Cadets
In Year 10, all boys are required to participate in one of three cadet programs.
Army Cadets
Offer boys an opportunity to develop confidence, self-discipline and learn a wide variety of skills
Surf Life Saving Cadets
Delivered through North Cottesloe Surf Life Saving Club and includes a range of life saving activities
Environment and Community Cadets
Activities include volunteering at aged-care facilities, wetland restoration and food rescue

Chess
The Chess Club is open to all students. Teams are drawn from the club to compete in numerous inter-school competitions. Students also compete in the PSA, Four Schools’ and State competitions.

Debating
With a high level of participation and achievement across all year groups, there are numerous opportunities for students to build their skill in the School and beyond.

Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award encourages students to take initiative and design a personal program to challenge themselves beyond the classroom. Through a combination of physical recreation, skill development, community service, and outdoor expeditions, students set goals reflecting their interests and passions. Many students use their involvement in Clubs, Sports, Music and service initiatives to meet components of the Award.
Students can achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, with each increasing in involvement level and commitment to personal growth. As they progress, participants take on more responsibility in planning and completing their activities, developing resilience, leadership and independence.

Informatics
This club caters for students interested in combining mathematics and coding to solve challenging, relevant and motivational computational problems and puzzles. It offers a highly successful pathway for budding Informatics Olympians to compete at local, national and international level. The pathway includes weekly training sessions and regular competitions for teams and individuals.

Mock Trials
This competition is sponsored by the Law Society of Western Australia and aims to teach students how the legal system works by involving them in a courtroom trial. Students in Years 11 and 12 are eligible to participate.

Music
Catering for Classical, Jazz and Rock musicians, there is a comprehensive calendar of performance opportunities at a variety of venues, as well as school assemblies and major concerts.

Publishing
Each year, students who enjoy writing and photography assist with the preparation and production of the School’s yearbook, the Mitre. The student committee is involved in writing, editing, proofreading, illustrating, taking photographs and general preparations for printing.

Friday Study Lab
Study Lab gives Year 11 students a supportive space to work on homework, prepare for tests, and develop effective study habits with staff assistance available.
