purpose-driven education
Motivating Boys to Learn
As a single-gender school, Christ Church Grammar School is uniquely positioned to select its staff, determine its curriculum, learning spaces and pedagogy with one clear purpose: to educate and support boys.
Educational Philosophy
‘Building Good Men’ is an educational philosophy and the cornerstone of the School’s approach to academia, co-curricular activities and sport. Students graduate from Christ Church Grammar School with strength of character, and a thorough understanding of what it means to be respectful, humble and compassionate men with integrity.
'Boys can just be boys'
With a focus on single-gender education, the School specifically designs every aspect of its programs to motivate boys and create an environment where ‘boys can just be boys’. Students learn in a non-competitive environment where they are not confined to masculine character profiles imposed by society.
Opportunities for Collaboration with Girls
Recognising that boys and girls mature at different rates, the School supports boys through this critical stage of development. We acknowledge that single-gender schools cannot be stand-alone institutions and must provide opportunities for boys and girls to socialise and integrate.
Students benefit from collaborative opportunities with girls from Methodist Ladies’ College, St Mary’s Anglican School for Girls, and St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls. These joint experiences include national and international tours, camps, music and drama productions, shared classroom lessons and projects, as well as community service initiatives.
